Madagascar Workshop 2012 - University of Toronto

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 7th "Toronto/ McGill Madagascar Workshop", which will be held at the University of Toronto, March 30th, 2012. This workshop aims to bring together anthropologists, historians and other scholars who share an interest in Madagascar and its diaspora, and to provide a forum for participants to share current research and ideas. The meeting will take place on Friday, March 30th (through Sat., March 31st, depending on the final number of participants) and will include formal presentations and informal discussion centered around thematic sessions. The keynote speaker will be announced shortly. There will be a workshop dinner on Friday evening. The workshop organizers invite participants to present research on any topic related to the study of Malagasy society, language and people. Potential participants should indicate their interest to Sarah Gould no later than January 2 and submit a provisional title and short abstract by January 31. There are no registration fees for participants. Participants will be expected to cover their own travel costs, however, limited funds may be available to help with lodging for speakers.
